The model was originally stitched on 40 ct linen using one stand of thread over two linen threads, except for words which are stitched one over one.

About the Sampler

"The original 191 year old sampler was stitched by 9 year old Lydia, who grew up in the United Kingdom, living at 19 upper Kings Street, Bloomsbury, London England. Born on December 29, 1818 and dying October 24, 1857, she was 39 years old."
