Perfectly Paired: Soie Surfine Silk Color Sets

Something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue. This elegant collection gathers the classic colors of a wedding day: soft cream, pure white, timeless black, and a touch of blue for luck.

Use it to stitch names and dates on a wedding sampler, add delicate monograms to a handkerchief or ring pillow, or sew a hidden "something blue" into the hem of a gown. Soie Surfine's crisp definition makes lettering especially beautiful on fine linen, and its fine weight slips easily through delicate fabrics.

A thoughtful gift for a bride, a stitcher, or anyone making something to remember the day.

Au Ver À Soie® Soie Surfine, is a fine “Z” twist spun silk that is 130/2 with a beautiful luster. Made in France by the Au Ver a Soie company, whose quality has remained steadfast since 1820.

• Use for fine hand sewing, appliqué, cross stitch, and machine or hand sewing
• Cross stitchers use it on finer count linens — it gives crisp definition so you can see every stitch, without railroading the thread into the linen, giving it a light, delicate appearance
• It is recommended to use for text stitching in counted thread work as it gives the lettering more crisp definition
• If you are sewing something fine, this is your thread
• A favorite for fine hand embroidery and counted thread work

• Does not add bulk to seams — silk thread compresses when ironed, unlike cotton — a critical issue when working with fine points in piecing and machine appliqué
• For hand appliqué, Sharon prefers this thread as it is easy to use and disappears into the fabric

A cozy set of warm neutrals! Add this beautiful set to your stitching basket. Inspired by the soft, natural tones of birch bark and woodland, this collection brings together three warm taupe shades that blend effortlessly into any project.

These versatile neutrals are perfect for shading, outlines, and sampler alphabets, and they lend a gentle, natural warmth to everything from florals to houses and landscapes. Soie Surfine’s crisp definition shows off every stitch on fine linen, making it especially lovely for lettering and text in counted thread work. Its fine weight lies beautifully on the fabric, giving your stitching a light, delicate look.

A quietly beautiful trio for samplers, heirloom projects, and everyday stitching.
