A lovely set of violets! The Sampler Violets collection brings together a beautiful range of purple tones in Au Ver à Soie® Soie Surfine. Add this beautiful set to your stitching basket. Inspired by the violets that bloom across antique samplers, this collection brings together a range of purple tones, from soft lilac to deep plum.

These rich purples are a natural fit for floral motifs, sampler borders, and alphabets. Soie Surfine's crisp definition shows off every stitch on fine linen, making it especially lovely for lettering and text in counted thread work. Its fine weight lies beautifully on the fabric, giving your stitching a light, delicate look.

A sweet bouquet of color for samplers, florals, and heirloom projects.

Au Ver À Soie® Soie Surfine, is a fine “Z” twist spun silk that is 130/2 with a beautiful luster. Made in France by the Au Ver a Soie company, whose quality has remained steadfast since 1820.

• Use for fine hand sewing, appliqué, cross stitch, and machine or hand sewing
• Cross stitchers use it on finer count linens — it gives crisp definition so you can see every stitch, without railroading the thread into the linen, giving it a light, delicate appearance
• It is recommended to use for text stitching in counted thread work as it gives the lettering more crisp definition
• If you are sewing something fine, this is your thread
• A favorite for fine hand embroidery and counted thread work

• Does not add bulk to seams — silk thread compresses when ironed, unlike cotton — a critical issue when working with fine points in piecing and machine appliqué
• For hand appliqué, Sharon prefers this thread as it is easy to use and disappears into the fabric

• 100 meters per spool
