Au Ver a Soie® Soie Surfine - Olive Grove Silk Thread Kit
Sun-warmed and earthy, the Olive Grove collection captures the gentle colors of a Mediterranean hillside, with soft sage, deep olive, and golden mustard tones that feel like late afternoon light through silvery leaves.
This set is a natural fit for botanical motifs, vines and leafy borders, fruit and flowers, and the classic greens and golds of antique samplers. Soie Surfine's crisp definition keeps every stitch clean and precise on fine linen, while its fine weight makes it just as lovely for delicate hand sewing and appliqué.
Add this warm, earthy set to your stitching basket and bring a little of the grove home.

More information about Soie Surfine Silk
Au Ver À Soie® Soie Surfine, is a fine “Z” twist spun silk that is 130/2 with a beautiful luster. Made in France by the Au Ver a Soie company, whose quality has remained steadfast since 1820.
- Use for fine hand sewing, appliqué, cross stitch, and machine or hand sewing
- Cross stitchers use it on finer count linens — it gives crisp definition so you can see every stitch, without railroading the thread into the linen, giving it a light, delicate appearance
- It is recommended to use for text stitching in counted thread work as it gives the lettering more crisp definition
- If you are sewing something fine, this is your thread
- A favorite for fine hand embroidery and counted thread work
- Does not add bulk to seams — silk thread compresses when ironed, unlike cotton — a critical issue when working with fine points in piecing and machine appliqué
- For hand appliqué, Sharon prefers this thread as it is easy to use and disappears into the fabric
